It's the 1930's. The meticulous Robert Dumas felt inspired by the pure lines and elegant shackles between a boat and its anchor whilst on vacation at the Normandic coast. This concept became the inspiration for a bracelet. Dumas' father in law, Emile Hermès, quickly became enthousiastic upon seeing the design. Up until this point it was the equestrian world of horses and buckles that ruled the inspiration for the collections, but now, a fresh sea breeze blew through the French design house.
