Hèrmes Carré Cirque Molier

This beautiful Hermès carré scarf was designed by the iconic Hermès artist, Philippe Dumas and was first issued by Hermès in 1983. His design is an artistic homa̒ge to Ernest Molier, an amateur French horseman of renown, who started a circus on this Paris estate in 1880, and stopping at his death in 1933. Cirque Molier, or Cirque des amateurs, was an annual charity gala which featured only amateur clowns, trapeze artists, acrobats, and equestrian and equestrienne performers recruited from French aristocracy and wealthy upper-middle class Parisians.
